Meet Portia
I graduated from Sonoma State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography and a minor in Art History. I have owned my own photography business and served alongside a Master Photographer. I have lived in Arizona, California, Hawaii and Virginia. I now reside in my home town in Northern California with my husband and our three sons. Throughout owning a photography business I have also served in Youth With A Mission to be a voice for the voiceless as a photographer. This was very fulfilling work. I enjoyed the photojournalistic aspects as well as the influence our photographs made for positive change in Panama.
In addition to traveling to Panama I have traveled and photographed in Spain, France, Italy, Australia, South Africa, Jamaica, Mexico, Egypt, Canada and various locations in The United States of America. I photograph with Canon equipment. My 5D Mark IV is accompanied with my L series 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and the 14-35mm f/4 lens. I also have a 50mm on hand, a Profoto A1 flash, a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone and traveling studio lights for any occasion.
These are a few of the things that make me happy:
Details, bright colors, follow through, FAMILY, red, feathers, Elaborate packaging that is clean and crisp, Coco Mademoiselle Chanel, multiple textures working together, Chiaroscuro, neon lights, making people laugh, hearing people laugh, laughing, orange, cartoons, jewelry, trumpets, reflections, smell of leather, the feel of well worn leather, cockscomb, warm rain, winning something I would have bought, elaborate hair styles, kickboxing, inquisitively curious children, curls, stripes, feeling a car hug my body around tight corners, Pixar's intro, gladiolus, old married couples, purple, turquoise, Pompidou, yellow gold, smoothies, teal, sparkles, FOOD, cooking, paper and stationary, peanut butter, repetition, repetition & repetition.
